KMTR: McKenzie River Clinic is back after its destruction in Holiday Farm Fire

BLUE RIVER, Ore. — McKenzie River Wellness has rebuilt the McKenzie River Clinic with the help or Orchid Health after the original clinic was lost in the Holiday Farm Fire.

Scott Wright, a Blue River resident, was scheduled for an appointment at the McKenzie River Clinic with his late wife the day the Holiday Farm fire broke out.

“My wife was pretty close to bedbound at that time, so i had to carry her out. I think it was like 1:38 in the morning or something like that. And we had to get out. We went to get out, and i got my neighbor to drive her in her car to sister’s. Then i jumped in the truck and grabbed all the cats. And then when i got to the highway, i was following them, they went off and disappeared, and i looked down and i had no gas in the truck. So i was stuck here for a day and a half,” Wright says.

The clinic was the only one in the McKenzie River Valley, so when it was destroyed in the fire many were left in a tough spot for health care but they made do
